HISTORY
Cigar Masters was created and founded by Brandon Salomon and first opened in May 1996. The original concept and business plan was to create a setting where fine cigars could be purchased and enjoyed in a comfortable environment. While attending Boston University (and enjoying many cigars), Brandon felt that the city of Boston was a perfect venue for creating this relaxed elegant environment.
The original location of Cigar Masters was on Newbury Street. At first, only coffee and non-alcoholic beverages were served, but within 6 months a beer and wine license was obtained. Soon after, Cigar Masters began receiving many accolades including: Boston’s Best, Top 10 in the Country by Cigar Aficionado and more (see accolades).
In 2001 Cigar Masters was informed that their lease would not be renewed and a new location was needed. Also at that time, Boston was passing the non-smoking law which limited the number of places to enjoy cigars. In October of 2002, Cigar Masters moved and opened in its current location on Boylston street.
The original concept was kept intact and today Cigar Masters is the premier Cigar Merchant in Boston and one of the only few places you can smoke a fine cigar SMOKING RULE: In order to allow a smoking establishment in Boston, 60% of total sales must be tobacco.Today, Cigar Masters upholds the tradition, lifestyle and culture of the cigar by constantly improving our products and services for our patrons.
Cigar Masters is opening its 2nd location in Providence in 2008 and going forward with plans for both private and corp franchise. We look forward to making you a part of our history and hope we can assist with any cigar needs.
